20 regular please

Have you ever looked around at some novelty and antique shops or even dorm rooms and see a sign that says.  "Jersey Girls dont pump Gas!"  if not, I guess you know where I am going with this one.  Yes, we don't pump our own gas and we have no problem with it.  What many people don't understand is that it is actually a law.  The reason behind this is to keep the drivers safe. We understand that pumping gas is not as hard as it looks and going to school in New York, I have pumped my own gas, at first I had no idea what I was doing. But after the first time, I got the hang of it.  Also, New Jersey is not the only state who has such laws, Oregon does also.   Its not because New Jersey people are lazy or are stupid, its because we have people whose job is to fill up tanks and we want to keep the driver safe.  When people ask why New Jersey people dont pump their own gas I usually give 2 answers. 1. "it gives people Jobs" and 2. "its a LAW deal with it."

We have a "Situation"

.... NO! I don't even want to comment on the matter of the Jersey shore.  Let me start by saying, THEY ARE NOT FROM NEW JERSEY!  Besides Deena and Sammy sweetheart, the rest of the cast is from many different places, but mostly New York.  The Jersey Shore does not depict what people from Jersey are like, even though there are many people who do act the same as Pauly D and Vinny, the rest of the state mostly does not.  What people don't understand is, the show isn't about people from New Jersey, that's just where the show takes place.  I can say that the show is very entertaining and its always fun to be able to see the cast at the Jersey Shore, walking around like they were just regular people.  But for those of you who don't know what New Jersey is like and base your opinion off this show, let me just say one thing... We do like the jersey shore, we do like to have fun, are we all swelled up Italian partiers... maybe some of us, but the show isn't truly depicting New Jersey.  its just the name of the show. I promise.

Exit 142

"What exit are you from?" New Jerseyians get a good sense of where you are from, relating to other new jerseyians, based on their exit off the parkway or turnpike.  One stereotype that i have heard from people is, Everyone from jersey lives off the parkway or turnpike.  Now, let me be truthful here, i have in fact asked people where they lived in New Jersey based on their parkway exit.  And along with that, i am proud to be from exit 142 off the parkway.  But not every person from New Jersey knows where they live according to the parkway or turnpike, because they don't live off of it.  South Jersey is a very open spaced section of our state and while the parkway goes along the eastern most part of the state, the turnpike cuts it up ever so slightly.  New Jersey is bigger than most people think it is, we are not all connected to one road.  You Jersey haters may be right, we love our highways, but we are not all connected to it.  While i cant say that this is a false stereotype, i cant say that it is a true one either.  So i will say... whatever.
